Romania concludes multinational CROSSFLOOD civil-protection exercise in Suceava

Suceava’s emergency inspectorate reported the conclusion of CROSSFLOOD, with Romanian and international teams moving to handover and demobilisation.

The EU project describes a full-scale exercise focused on complex flooding in a simulated post-conflict or low-conflict cross-border environment, including hazardous contamination and unexploded ordnance.

What changed

The exercise prepared civil-protection teams for a simulated combination of flooding, contamination and conflict-related hazards.

Who this is for

Participating Romanian and international response teams. This is professional preparedness training, not new household guidance.

Dates & context

The 2 October 2026 local official report confirms the exercise ended. Completion of an exercise is not proof of operational readiness in a real disaster. The scenario does not describe an actual flood, contamination incident or conflict in Romania. The wider project timetable is separate from this exercise milestone.
