Lesotho launches climate-preparedness support for small businesses
Lesotho announced a M68 million Climate Resilience and Preparedness Support Facility for micro, small and medium enterprises. The programme offers government co-financing of up to 80% of approved resilience investments, with businesses contributing 20%.
The World Bank-backed CAFI project supports the facility. Government examples include water storage, flood-protection works and storage arrangements that protect stock.
What changed
The facility targets business continuity when drought, flooding or snow disrupt premises, equipment and stock.
Who this is for
Eligible formally registered businesses in Lesotho, subject to application assessment and programme requirements.
What the official guidance says
- Check current terms and application availability with CAFI or the responsible district trade office before preparing an application.
Dates & context
A subsequent government account dates the launch to 15 July 2026. This is historical programme coverage, not a new November funding round or evidence that the announced total has been disbursed.
