Privacy & cookies
This notice describes the information used by Nations Prepare at nationsprepare.com, including its own counters and third-party services.
Reading the site
You do not need to create an account to read our preparedness summaries. Our own counters do not store your name, email address, IP address or a browsing profile. This does not mean that our hosting provider, advertising services or embedded content receive no information.
Page-view measurement
We count page loads by UTC day, broad page category (home, article, country or guide) and broad referrer group (direct, search, social, internal or other). These are page views, not unique people. This measurement stores no visitor identifier, cookies, raw page URLs or raw referrer URLs. Daily aggregates cover the most recent 90 UTC calendar days; older rows are deleted on the next accepted measurement request. Our page-view script skips collection when your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control. These controls apply to our own measurement, not a promise about every third-party service.
The “here now” counter
The live counter estimates browser-tab sessions active within the last two minutes, not unique people. It uses a random identifier in your tab’s session storage and records that identifier with a last-seen time. It sends a heartbeat while the tab is visible. Expired session rows are deleted on the next counter request. The tab identifier is temporary and is not used for advertising or linked to the page-view totals.
Peace reactions
The optional peace button stores an aggregate reaction total. Random request identifiers prevent a retried click from being counted twice. These short-lived receipts expire after 24 hours and are removed on a subsequent reaction request. The aggregate total remains. The reaction feature does not store visitor names, IP addresses or cookies.
Google advertising
This site includes Google AdSense code. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies and similar technologies to serve and measure ads based on your visits to this and other websites. Google’s advertising cookies allow Google and its partners to personalize ads, depending on your settings and applicable consent choices. Requests to Google may include the page URL, IP address and other browser information. Turning off personalized ads does not necessarily stop all advertising measurement or fraud-prevention processing.
You can manage personalized advertising in Google My Ad Center. See how Google uses information from partner sites and Google’s Privacy Policy. Participating third-party vendors also provide choices through YourAdChoices.
Where a consent message is displayed, use its available controls to make your choices. This notice does not itself collect consent or confirm that a consent-management service has been configured. Browser cookie settings can also block or clear cookies; this may affect third-party features.
Embedded posts and external links
Some pages load official posts using X’s embed service as they approach the visible area. Loading an embed connects your browser to X, which may receive technical information and use cookies under its own practices. We request X’s do-not-track embed option, but this is not a guarantee that X receives no data. You can use the original source links instead. See X’s Privacy Policy. Other linked websites have their own privacy notices.
Hosting and retention limits
Hosting and infrastructure providers process requests to deliver and protect this site. Their operational logs and backups are separate from the application records described above. The deletion periods stated for our counters do not describe every provider’s logs or backup retention.
