Singapore tests distribution of food reserves during supply disruption

The Food Agency and industry partners tested moving reserve food from warehouses to retailers during a simulated severe supply disruption.

The Singapore Food Agency reported completing the exercise on 23 September 2026 with stockpile operators, logistics providers and retailers. Participants rehearsed systems and procedures for moving food from storage into retail distribution.

What changed

Institutional distribution readiness, not a live shortage or new household supply requirement.

Who this is for

Food reserve operators, logistics businesses, participating retailers and public agencies responsible for supply continuity.

Dates & context

The release does not quantify reserves or establish how many days they cover. SFA says findings will inform future planning; it does not demonstrate that subsequent improvements have already been delivered. The page footer’s 29 October update is not the date of this exercise or announcement.
