Singapore launches power-and-digital disruption exercise with new community pilots
Singapore launched the third Exercise SG Ready, involving more than 1,000 organisations in simulations scheduled through 15 February. The focus was prolonged power outages and degraded digital connectivity, including a new household-outreach pilot.
Volunteers practised relaying information to households and identifying residents who needed assistance when normal connectivity was assumed unavailable. This tests readiness beyond keeping emergency supplies.
What changed
A national preparedness exercise with concrete pilots, not a household supply mandate. Its simulated crisis scenario must not be reported as a real outage or prediction.
Who this is for
National exercise; households, organisations and public-warning systems.
Dates & context
The launch also trialled a route for public-warning messages through vehicles. These are operational preparedness developments, separate from Singapore’s standing Ready Bag guidance.
