Northern Ireland launches five-step household preparedness campaign
The BRIC project launched Five Steps to Be Ready at a Northern Ireland Emergency Preparedness Group meeting, combining practical household actions in one regional campaign.
The Department for Infrastructure Rivers Agency-funded project brings together weather-warning registration, utility customer-care registers, an emergency kit, a household plan and official advice. Community resilience officers will support the campaign through information sessions and workshops.
What changed
This is a distinct regional launch, not the UK-wide Be Ready campaign announced a month later or a new stockholding rule.
Who this is for
Households and communities across Northern Ireland, including people needing additional utility support.
What the official guidance says
- Review the five campaign steps.
- Use NI Direct for official emergency advice.
Dates & context
The council gives 22 September as the launch date; it does not provide a separate page-publication date.
