Japan updates food-stock materials for households with additional needs
MAFF lists a September 2026 edition of its food-stock guide for infants, older people and people with chronic conditions or food allergies, and says its summary materials changed that month. Separately, MAFF’s standing household guidance recommends at least three days of food, preferably about one week.
What changed
An updated publication, not evidence that Japan newly adopted household stockpiling or increased the general duration. The main food-stock guide is dated March 2019. The September edition date is not a day-specific announcement date.
Who this is for
Households in Japan with infants, older people, chronic conditions or food allergies—the audiences identified for the special-needs food-stock guide.
