Indonesia tests earthquake and tsunami coordination in East Nusa Tenggara
BNPB reports a 19–22 October training programme in Kupang covering coordination, command-post operations and self-evacuation for earthquake and tsunami scenarios.
Around 40 participants took part, including disaster agencies, emergency responders, utilities, community organisations and disability-service representatives. Tabletop and command-post stages tested plans and information exchange.
What changed
A regional simulation, not a real disaster alert or a nationwide household requirement.
Who this is for
Provincial and local response institutions and partner organisations in East Nusa Tenggara.
Dates & context
The report was published 21 October, before the programme’s stated 22 October end. It supports that training was underway but does not verify final completion or evaluation findings.
